Inspection Focus Areas 2008/09
Inspection Focus Areas (IFAs) allow us to explore and report nationally to a wide range of stakeholders, including service users, carers and providers about the quality of care in Scotland.
The questions which we will ask providers in 2008/09 are listed below. For convenience these are listed by service type. It is important to note that occasionally some questions will not apply to some specific service types, for example;
• The question about notifications to SSSC will not apply to childminders as there is no requirement to register. • The questions on physical health and well-being will only apply to those services for looked after and accommodated children.
Your Care Commission Officer is aware of this and will only consider the IFAs for your service.
It is also important to note that IFAs are complementary to the Care Commission’s new Quality Assessment Framework and will provide evidence for particular Quality Themes and Statements.
The Care Commission may ask additional questions and inspect against additional Quality Themes and Statements where required and this will be explained to you where it occurs.
